Peter, Baba, Maya and I went down to see the Cherry Blossoms today-what a crowd! We got some cute pictures though:

White House, baby...

We went to the annual White House Easter Egg Roll this morning-that's what DC kids in the know do ;) We were lucky enough to get tickets from Peter's boss, so there weren't any insane lines to wait in to get the tickets..

Here are some pictures:

Riding the metro home was the most fun:

Happy Easter!

We celebrated American Easter today (we'll do all this again in a month for Greek Easter!) and Maya had a lot of fun. We set up a little egg hunt in Baba's yard (Maya would find more than eggs in our yard) and she really enjoyed it-she knew exactly what to do because we had practiced at Bunnyland. She enjoyed it so much that after she had found all the eggs, I took her inside and Peter hid all of them again. The second time wasn't quite as exciting because she figured out that the little plastic eggs opened and was a lot more interested in opening and closing them.

Here are a few pics from the hunt:

Afterwards, we gave her the present that the Easter Bunny had brought her (leave it to Americans to commercialize and give gifts in celebration of Christ's resurrection)-it was Ba-Ba Elmo..

Giving Elmo a kiss:

Daddy and Maya even dyed Easter eggs and Maya was very interested in them:

Maya looking cute (but tired-she refused to nap at all today):

Maya wearing her sunglasses from Miska:

Whew! That was a lot of pictures!

Why we didn't stay at Bunnyland that long...

is explained in this video:

Photo Sharing - Video Sharing - Photo Printing - Photo Books

(Um, it took me forever to figure out how to embed that video from a new hosting service-sorry!!)

The only picture of Maya I really got--it was SO cold!!:

And I thought this was cute-Maya and Grace checking their email in the computer center in the lobby of Margaux's building:

18 months!

Maya turned 18 months today! Crazy! It feels like we're venturing into a new phase of development-so much more communication and so many other new things. Terrible 2's...here we come!

Here is a video we took last night of Maya feeding the dogs...

PS. Disregard Peter in his boxers and socks ;)

PPS. When I compare this video to the one I took almost a year ago and posted here, I am amazed!!

My basketball player likes the Container Store...

After Maya's 3 hour nap this afternoon (!!!) we stopped by playgroup for a little bit and then needed to kill a little bit of time before dinner-so Margaux, Grace, Maya and I went to the Container Store-too much fun for a toddler! Here are a few pictures:

This one cracks me up..I feel like Maya is catching Grace up on gossip:

18 Month Stats...

We had Maya's 18 month check up today-here are the stats:

Weight: 24 lbs 4 oz (50th percentile)
Height: 33 1/4 inches (90th percentile!)

How does that happen??? Anyways, I am happy about the weight-means I don't have to have any conversations about her diet. Babcia keeps telling me that she is ahead of the curve since all I ate my second year of life was crackers and apple juice!

The doctor was very pleased with her development-everything seems great with her talking and she gave us some good tips on how to deal with behavioral issues.

We'll have some 18 month pictures soon!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

From your neighborhood Leprechaun:

We also went to the zoo today-Maya had a great time! She was chatting it up with the tigers and was engaging the chimps-they were banging on the glass at her! She got a little surprised and backed it up a bit, but was enthralled the whole time. We'll definitely be back-she seems to be at an age where she is really interested in everything!

With Owen's granny:

Hugging her friend Katie (she's big into hugs these days!):
