Rolling munchkin

It's a mixed blessing that rolling. On one hand, one loves to see development in your little baby. There is so much that changes that first year! On the other hand, it's pretty nice to put a baby down for a few minutes and be assured that you'll find her in the same place you left her. That era is now over in our house.
At some point in the recent history, Zoe learned how to become quite fast at rolling both ways, which means we often find her off the playmat, rug, blanket or wherever we put her. Luckily she is always happy wherever she ends up:

Playgroup Halloween Party

Maya has been in a playgroup since she was about 7 months old. We started out with about eight moms, each with one kiddo. Over the last 2.5 years a couple of the moms left and we added a couple more. Now there are 8 moms and 15 kids.

On Wednesday afternoon we hit a local park for a little Halloween party. Everyone pitched in and brought an activity and/or snack. I took the easy way out and brought the drinks ;)

Here are a few pictures...

Zoe is 6 months already!

I can't believe my little munchkin is already half way to one year! She is truly such a happy little Buddha baby. She loves hanging out, watching her sister, giggling and checking out the world around her. She's getting pretty good at sitting for a few seconds, is rolling both ways and I am fairly certain more teeth are coming in (at least, I hope so!).

Here are a few pictures from today--we had a playgroup Halloween birthday party and Zoe made her debut as the cutest Bee ever. I'll have more pictures of the party soon, but for now the focus is on little Zo-Zo.

Ice Skater

Last weekend, Maya attended her first birthday party at an ice skating rink, which was her first time ice skating. Both Peter and I skated a lot as kids, so I figured she would enjoy it and boy, was I right!

Zoe stayed home, but she is super cute as always...

Today, Maya went to her first birthday party for a classmate today..which happened to be at the ice rink as well! Peter sent this picture:

Boo at the Zoo

Last night we went to Boo at the Zoo--it's an evening event at the National Zoo for Halloween--kids come all dressed up and there are lots of booths giving away treats (some healthy, some not) and activities for the kids, as well as lots of cool light displays. This was the first year we thought Maya would really enjoy it. We left Zoe at home with Baba since we weren't sure she'd appreciate it yet. Abby, Amy and Mike joined us as well..

It's really hard to get pictures of Maya these days-if you ask her to say "cheese", she either pouts and looks away or gives you a head tilted grimace..which you will see in the pictures below...

Papou..

Papou and Wow came to visit a week ago and I snapped this picture of Zoe with him:

It randomly happened that Zoe was wearing the same outfit that Maya was wearing about 2.5 years ago:
