White House
Maya and Peter went this morning to visit the White House to see their Christmas decorations. Maya was a little disappointed when they arrived because she thought they were going to Daddy's work. Peter told her it was a part of his work and she chipped up. You're not allowed to bring cameras or take pictures, but, well, you know Peter ;)
Blizzard of 2009
DC can't handle snow--it's ridiculous how a few inches can cause a frenzy and panic amongst people and send them to the grocery store to clear out every container of milk, every loaf of bread and every shovel and sled within miles.
However, every 7 or so years, DC gets hit by a snowstorm that actually warrants such a reaction. Being the cynics we are, Peter and I did absolutely no prep for this storm and let's just say, "Thank goodness for Baba", because otherwise we would have been eating buttered noodles for 2 days.
We got 20 inches of snow between 9pm on Friday and the wee hours of Sunday morning. Maya loved every minute of it. I wasn't about to risk my camera and lens on Saturday while it was still snowing, but got a few good pictures on Sunday morning...

Christmas Tree Decorating
We were all excited last weekend to get our tree and to decorate it, as well as the house. This year, we thought, Maya would really enjoy it!
Well, she enjoyed decorating a tree. That much is true. Was it our beautiful 8 foot tree, purchased at the quaint tree lot full of Christmas Spirit (Whole Foods)? Nope, it was her $5.99 fake white tree from Target..
The one picture decorating the real tree:
