We arrived here on Wednesday night after a long trip. Luckily, we really couldn't have asked Maya to be a better traveler. She enjoyed being on the airplane, listening to music, watching DVD's, reading books and more. She was awake for the whole flight from DC to LA and then promptly fell asleep for over 2.5 hours on our flight from LA to Maui.
Here are some pictures of her travels:
Yesterday, the weather was not cooperating, but we still managed to get out and explore:
This morning we woke up to sun, so Maya needed a swim asap:
We shot this little video when we were out to dinner the other night. It captures Maya's personality quite well--she loves to ham it up for the camera. Oh, and the reason that we told her to "Shh" is because we were in a restaurant ;)
so that I don't look like a complete slacker. These are from last week...
Maya is currently obsessed with "Baby" and she is fully decked out with stroller, baby bag and most importantly, baby bottles.
Winter has arrived, which means lots of bundling up. This does not come naturally, since Maya never actually wants to wear her coat. She must run warm like her mom and Dziadek. Here she is actually wearing her coat...with the hood, no less.
We've had some rainy days this week, and I figured that there would be no better time to put the umbrella and rain boots to work..we had to go inside quickly though because apparently there were dinosaurs outside (someone's new irrational fear).
Maya's time in school has resulted in very good manners. Everything is "thank you mommy!" "sorry daddy!"..last night in the middle of the night Maya was sleeping in bed with us (don't ask) and Kona was pushing up in Maya's space a little too much for her liking. So she asked Kona to get off the bed. With a little helpful nudge from me, she did. And as Kona is getting off the bed, Maya says "Thank you Kony!".
Maya had a great time trick or treating last night...she was very good about saying, "Trick or tree" when prompted and we made sure she said Thank You to everyone. We found it quite humorous that when we would leave someone's house, she would say "Thank you daddy!" Daddy gets all the love...
Here she is before we left the house:
Waiting at her first door (I don't think these people ended up being home):

At one of the homes where you get to take your own!
Sometimes miniature giraffes get tired and you need to carry them:
This morning Maya had her Halloween parade at school. I am pretty sure the kids in her class were meant to walk by themselves with the teachers around school, but that didn't end up happening--all of the parents marched with. Maya was adorable as a giraffe--she has two different sets of headpieces!
With her teacher, and the head of school, Miss Denise:
