Obama, Baby...

Maya had the historic opportunity on Thursday to go to Invesco Field in Denver for Obama's acceptance speech. She was quite the political rally pro-she loved waving her American flag--even if it did hit 90% of the people around us--and enjoyed wearing her "necklace" (credentials). She made it through the entire thing and even got to go down on the floor with her dad.

Here are some pictures from the evening:

Children's Museum...

We went to the Children's Museum this morning and Maya had a great time. She is very into pretending right now, which is really cute. It also showcases how much she is actually watching and taking in during our day to day life (see the grocery store pics/video below).

Here are some in the "Under 4" area:

In the mini grocery store-this was SO cute:

Out of town...

Sorry that we have been MIA-we've been out of town since our last blog post and we won't be coming home until Monday.

We had a great time in East Hampton visiting Baba...Maya spent a lot of time at the beach and walking the dogs--her new favorite thing is to walk Kona on an extendable leash--"Walk! Walk!". She also got to experience having all of her grandparents in one place-Papou (or Patou, as she calls him) and Wow came to visit in East Hampton for a few days..on Monday we celebrated Peter's birthday all together.

Coming home from East Hampton was NOT fun at all. We rolled out of Baba's house at 9:35 am and rolled into our driveway in Arlington at 9:35pm. The traffic was excruciating and we had to stop three times for meals/breaks. Maya was great though..she only had one or two breakdowns, which was fewer than me ;)

The next day we flew out to Denver. That trip was significantly less eventful-Maya even slept 1.5 hours on the flight, so it went by pretty quickly (well, as quickly as a 3.5 hour flight with a nearly 2 year old can go). We got to hang out on Sunday-we went up to Boulder for a few hours, where Maya had a great time on the Pearl Street Mall.

Yesterday the convention started and Peter has been working hard! He went to meet his boss at 9:30 and didn't come home for the night until 1:30--though he did get a short break for dinner. He keeps asking if Maya and me would like to go see Hilary or Biden speak, but I think we'll save up Maya's patience for Thursday, when we get to see Obama at Mile High.

Sorry I don't have any pictures to post, but hopefully in a day or two...

A Fun Weekend...

Our update is a little belated because we've been a bit crazy around here, but Papou and Wow came for a visit and we had a lot of fun. We also got to hang out with Stacy and Matt a little and their son Aiden was here all weekend with us!

We went to the zoo on Saturday and Maya got to go in the "Caring Corral", where she was very eager to pet the goat. Not so much on the donkey.

On Sunday afternoon we went to the Air & Space Museum downtown...lots of fun things to see and open spaces to run around:

Beach Bum

Maya had a great time in East Hampton..even after "Gace" left-she loves hanging out on the beach, playing in the sand and running around..ocean, not so much-but there's always next year! She and Baba loved to look in the yard for the resident Bunny--Maya ran after the bunny yelling, "Kiss! Kiss!" They also loved to play Hide and Seek. We went to see the "neighs" a couple of times and fed the ducks as well...Here are some pictures (mostly beach):

Beach with Grace...

We spent the first part of the week in East Hampton with Grace and Margaux. We all had a great time hitting the beach and hanging out...here are some pictures:

On the plane in..they were great travelers!:

Riding to town in the wagon (about 2 minutes later fighting ensued over hats):

The mini shoppers hit up Gosman's in Montauk:

And of course there was the beach:

And saying "Ta-da!" is always fun:

Of course, there's always snacking:
